Delta Sigma Theta is a public service sorority that establishes community service programs based on our Five Point Program Thrust. One area in our programmatic thrust is Educational Development, through which we annually award scholarships or awards to graduating high school seniors and college students.
Since we were chartered in 1989, we have awarded over 100 scholarship/incentive awards and approximately $80,000 to graduating high school seniors and 6 young women majoring in education. In 1995, we established the Clevelandria Adams Memorial Scholarship in memory of beloved Soror Clevelandria Adams, who was committed to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and education. In 2005, this scholarship was renamed the “Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter” Memorial Scholarship” in memory of our departed Sorors Janie Liotta and Wray Pash Peacock.
