The Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter (SCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on April 23, 1989 by 27 committed members with the purpose of extending the resources and mission of Delta throughout Long Island.

 

In 2007, Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter was named the DST Eastern Region's Small Chapter of the Year and the 2011 Project S.H.A.P.E. winners for our healthy lifestyle programming. We continue to strive for excellence every year and our members have worked diligently to implement many of the national programs to our community which include:

• Financial Fortitude Workshops

• Housing Seminars

• Zumba and Health Seminars

• Meet the Candidate Political Forum

• Voter Registration

 

Currently, SCAC has 54 educated and dedicated members committed to carry out the mission of the Sorority here in Suffolk County.  This chapter has awarded over $80,000 in scholarships and supported hundreds of youth in the Suffolk County Area.
