Financial Fit Friday | Black History Month Edition

🖤❤️💚

Before the phrase went viral, there was Black Wall Street—the Greenwood District. A thriving hub of Black-owned businesses, banks, professionals, and generational wealth built on resilience and excellence.

Though Greenwood was destroyed in the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, its legacy lives on—reminding us of the power of economic unity, community strength, and perseverance.

Watch. Learn. Reflect.

🖤❤️💚

Today we honor Madam C. J. Walker — a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and pioneer of Black economic empowerment. Born to formerly enslaved parents, she built a successful hair-care empire that created opportunities for thousands of Black women.

Her legacy is more than wealth. It is about ownership, confidence, job creation, and lifting others while rising.

A reminder that financial independence can transform generations.

 Celebrating powerhouse leadership today

🖤❤️💚

Honorary Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Janice Bryant Howroyd, turned $1,500 into a global billion-dollar enterprise- showing us that vision, discipline, and values build lasting success.

We also honor Sheila Johnson, co-founder of BET, whose journey from media to hospitality and sports ownership proves the power of diversification, reinvention, and ownership.

Two extraordinary leaders. One powerful reminder: financial fitness is built through preparation, perseverance, and purposeful growth.
