History of Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter

Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was chartered on April 23, 1989. The charter members aimed to expand Delta programs throughout Suffolk County in order to create an awareness of Delta services in business, religious, educational, political, social and cultural institutions. In addition SCAC continues to tap the resources of available women who can bring positive, innovative and motivational ideas to public service initiatives of Delta Sigma Theta.

Mirroring the Five Point Program Thrust, the Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter is committed to providing public service to the communities of Suffolk County in hopes of assisting in the improved quality of life.

In 2007, Suffolk County Alumnae Chapter received the "Small Chapter of the Year" Award for the Eastern region, as well as the Total Woman Health Challenge.  During the 2008 National Convention SCAC received awards for the excellence in the 50 Million Pound Challenge and Love My Sister Programs.
